An Orphan Sunday Zambia Coordinator is a volunteer who champions orphaned and vulnerable children where they already live, worship and serve. No salary. No central office. Just faithful people, resourced and connected to a national movement.
JAMES 1:27 — THE ANCHOR OF THIS MOVEMENT
Most coordinators already carry a calling — as pastors, deacons, elders, children’s ministry workers or compassionate ministry leaders. This role doesn’t replace that one. It sits alongside it.
Orphan Sunday Zambia has no central office; it runs on faithful people in every town and congregation. Your calling is to mobilise the people already around you.
You are a champion and an advocate: someone who speaks up for those who cannot speak for themselves.
They run all year, but build toward one day — the second Sunday in November.
With churches, leaders and organisations in your area — across denominations, not just your own.
Orphan Sunday services, community gatherings and training days.
Connect local churches to the National Steering Committee.
Share Orphan Sunday and get OSZ guides and materials into the hands of churches near you.
Find and support new coordinators, and pass the vision on.
Tell national leadership what happened, so others can learn from what worked.
For the children, families and communities you serve. Listed last, held first.
Your own congregation, fellowship or community — and where most coordinators started.
A district, town or city. Build the local network of churches.
Social media, email, community radio.
You don’t need a title or a territory to begin. Start with the church and community you already know.
Tick what sounds true. Nothing is recorded — this is just to help you think it through.
You bring your gifts, relationships and local knowledge. Orphan Sunday Zambia brings the rest.
A short reel from the Homecoming gathering — the movement returning to where it began.
Tell us who you are and where you serve. Someone from the National Steering Committee will be in touch.
